The Four Biggest and Best Thrill Seeking Rides at Disneyland Paris

My main priority when visiting Disneyland Paris was to wear Minnie Mouse ears, spot some princesses and see Sleeping Beauty's castle. It has a reputation of being an attraction for children, but the park has some huge thrill rides for adults to go wild on. It's been years since I've been on a proper rollercoaster so I was giddy with excitement as we made our way around to each one. If adrenaline is your sort of thing, here's the rides you absolutely must try.

Hyperspace Mountain

After Disney's recent acquisition of the Star Wars franchise, a whole section of the park is dedicated to the sci-fi series. There's a couple of tamer rides that are suitable for kids (and geeky 29 year olds in Star Wars t-shirts like a certain man I was travelling with!), but Hyperspace Mountain is the biggest and best. The rollercoaster flies around in the dark, leaving you totally unprepared for the next corkscrew or loop-the-loop!

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster

The Walt Disney Studio section of the park is home to the biggest rides, and the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster is the most brash of them all. The queue winds you through a recording studio where Aerosmith are on a big screen planning their next big hit. The ride is LOUD and seriously takes your breath away with the speed and intensity. 

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril

We went on this rollercoaster expecting it to be reasonably tame, but as we went up to the first drop, I spotted a looping section to our right. Cue me and my boyfriend frantically wrapping bags around our legs, shoving phones deep into back pockets and me holding onto my Minnie Mouse ears for dear life. Belongings safe, we screamed the whole way around, jumped off and ran straight back around to the blissfully empty queue for another go.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

Without a doubt, this is the BEST ride in Disneyland Paris. The theatre of it is wonderful, leading you through a decrepit old hotel, the staff dressed in cobweb-covered bellboy uniforms and relishing the fear in everyone's faces. The ride takes you up, up, up to the top of the Tower, the doors open and you can see over the ENTIRE park. Which would be great, if you didn't then plummet down at god knows what speed. I have literally never screamed so much on a ride in my life and was hoarse for the entirety of the next day.

There's plenty of rides to experience if you're not a thrill-seeker though. Get lost in Alice's Curious Labyrinth, fly high on Dumbo the Flying Elephant, or discover the secrets behind a Disney movie on the Studio Tram Tour. But I know you'll be brave and go for one of the Big Four - won't you?!
