Knitwear and Nikes

I'm wearing:

Black is anything but boring when it comes to fashion. You may think that to have an exciting outfit you need something bright added somewhere, but for me I don't just look at colour. My favourite outfits are often all black but instead mix texture and shape so that the closer you look, the more interesting it becomes.

Why pick one favourite item when you can wear them all at the same time?! My £8 glittery roll neck from Primark has been worn on more formal occasions recently, but I love it poking out of my faux leather t-shirt. It's a taken a while to find this tee; I love the boxy shape that's characteristic of them but I always just end up looking bulky. I found this in Forever 21 and it has the ideal ratio of slouch:structure.

And then one more texture because why not. So much fluffy! Feeling how soft this cardigan is, you'd never guess that it's from George at Asda, the quality suggests much more luxurious than that. I love its almost cropped length (or is that because my body is too long?); it makes me feel like an 80s drag queen who's switched her platforms for trainers.

Oh, the trainers. I've always owned a battered pair of Converse, and my Stella McCartney Adidas hi-tops were a genius impulse buy a few years ago, but I've never liked traditional looking trainers. I bought these specifically to take away with me on The Big Trip, as I'll undoubtedly be doing a lot of walking. But they're so comfortable that I've basically worn them every day since I bought them. Oops. Not only is my outfit a mix of textures and shapes, but also casual and smart - it can't really be put in a box, and I love that.
