Creating Something

Denim tshirt and leather look jeans
I'm wearing:
Baseball jacket - ASOS
Denim tee - New Look
Necklace - vintage
Leather look jeans - New Look
Trainers - Superga

I mentioned a few weeks ago that one of the things I learnt last year was that this blog actually means something to me. Whether it's scribbling away post ideas in my battered notebook whilst waiting for a plane or editing photos whilst sat on my sofa and watching Parks and Rec on repeat, my brain is always buzzing about what I can do next and how I can improve what I put out here.

A Denim Coat for Winter

Fashion blogger wears long denim coat with faux fur collar
I'm wearing:
Denim coat - Zara
Jumper - New Look
Jeans - ASOS
Socks - Topshop
Shoes - Primark
Ring (seen later) - Weekday

Mesh Inserts

The peek-a-boo style of mesh inserts is all over the high street right now, showing a tiny bit of skin all wrapped up in a monochrome palette. It's tasteful with a mix of punk and would fit right in with a flash of tartan or some strategically placed safety pins. Here's my pick of the best on the high street right now, and one far too pretty designer item that just couldn't be missed out.

Bralet, River Island - £10

Midi skirt, New Look - £14.99

T-shirt, Tophop - £20
Dress, House of Liza at Farfetch, £420

Purse Palpitations Week #7

Getting into the spirit of Halloween slightly earlier with this week's Purse Palpitations - channeling my inner goth. My 14 year old self would be so proud!
I have so many chunky knits, but somehow I haven't got a black one. This is mine come payday.
£45 Topshop
Oh good god, punk cutlery. This is all shades of bloody amazing.
£5.99 - £7.99 per item Zara Home
This and my stripy blazer are just meant to be together
£7.99 New Look
I would wear this all year round!
£27.23 Romwe

Fashion: In a Galaxy Far, Far Away...

Well not that far away actually. Galaxy prints are all over the high street right now and I lovelovelove them. My housemate and I are (not-so) secret sci-fi geeks and over the last couple of weeks we've both debuted our galaxy print items in smart and casual situations.

I wore my leggings on a bog standard Saturday afternoon to wander to the supermarket. With my big fluffy vintage jumper I was so cosy!

Jumper: Vintage
Shirt: Bershka
Leggings: New Look
Trainers: Primark
Ring: Spitalfields Market
Nail art tutorial can be found here.
And how amazing does my housemate look in this peplum galaxy print top with sequin leggings for my birthday drinks the other week? Stars and sparkle = perfect combination!

Top: New Look
Leggings: Topshop
Shoes: New Look
Clutch: Irregular Choice

What I Wore to...Callooh Callay

Blazer - River Island
Vest - Topshop Boutique
Necklace - ASOS
Printed trousers - Zara
Clutch bag - ASOS
Red stilettos - New Look
I've been playing with different types of black as my bog standard skinny jeans have seen better days. These trousers actually have a jacquard print on them and are a great way of being a slightly fancy basic.

I wore red lipstick and red nails with gold jewellery to add something interesting to a pretty monotone outfit and was pretty pleased with the result!

Ring - H&M
Watch - Casio
Bracelet - somewhere in Barcelona

My beautiful necklace from a friend for my birthday
Wondering what the hell Callooh Callay is? My next post on Friday is all about it!

Fashion: Winging It

I found these chained collar tips in New Look's amazing buy one get one free offer on all jewellery last weekend. They were a snip at £4.99. I've been trying to update my accessories as my clothes are getting out of hand, but I can still squeeze in a few shiny trinkets!

They really perk up a relatively boring outfit of shirt and jeans for the office don't you think?

Purse Palpitations Week #5

Starting to think about my A/W wardrobe but I have a holiday before then too. These things are currently top of my list:

I think I'm going to have to get this as my holiday beach bag. It's so colourful! £16.99 from Mango

Houndstoothtastic £24.99 from New Look

Gloriously tacky. Definitely need it. £2.26 from Dollarjewlery on Etsy.

Love that gothic is coming in for AW12. This is top of my list so far. £38 from Topshop

What I Wore to... Notting Hill Carnival

Bed jacket - River Island
High-waisted shorts - River Island
Vest top - Topshop Boutique
Sunglasses - New Look
It was beautiful weather for Notting Hill Carnival on Sunday, and I finally got to wear this kimono I picked up in the River Island sale ages ago. I've been scared of the whole pattern clashing trend, but this is a really easy way to embrace it, by wearing it over plain items! The shorts are also from River Island and are high-waisted to hide any sins. The basics were a vest top from Topshop Boutique and sunglasses from New Look. High street heaven! Look out for my post on the fun of the carnival tomorrow.
